The IWPA (since 1885) is an organization of
communications professionals whose objective is to maintain and improve
the professional standards of members in mass communications in Illinois,
to promote their interest, and to provide for the sharing of ideas and
information. IWPA is an affiliate of the National Federation of Press
Women.
It is an exciting time for The Illinois Woman's Press Association as we host the National Federation of Press Women's annual convention in 2010! As Illinois Woman's Press Association members, we have experienced the value and benefits of our diverse organization first-hand. We look forward to working together with our membership to showcase Chicago to our affiliates during IWPA's 125th anniversary celebration.
IWPA/NFPW values your creativity as members of our organization. We understand that economic times are tough, but we also know that it’s more important than ever to invest in your career through professional development and affiliation. We urge to renew your membership for the 2010 calendar year. Your past membership support played an important role in our organizations success!
As IWPA/NFPW members, we take pride in our accomplishments and our continued work on behalf of women, journalism and all forms of communication. The past 125 years of the Illinois Woman's Press Association combined with the 70+ years history of the National Federation of Press Women has been a powerful force in supporting literacy, women’s issues, the First Amendment and freedom of information. We have developed powerful partnerships with such organizations as the Council of National Journalism Organizations, the National Women’s History Museum and the World Press Freedom Committee.
