Lana Brown is the recipient of the 2009 Communicator of Achievement Award from the Illinois Woman’s Press Association (IWPA). She will represent Illinois as its nominee for the National Communicator of Achievement Award from the National Federation of Press Women. Brown serves IWPA as its First Vice President and Program chair.
Brown is a lifelong educator who has written and produced award winning publications, grants, curricula, and marketing materials. Her spoken word can be found in numerous audio books and broadcast news voiceovers, and alongside symphony orchestras. She is the owner of Lana Brown Communications, a speaking and writing consulting firm, which has serviced AT&T, Kraft, the National Education Association, the Museum of Broadcast Communications, among others.
She has taught secondary and collegiate levels and is currently an adjunct professor for Vanderbilt University and coordinating Michigan State University College of Education’s internship program with Chicago Public Schools.
