Chicago, IL – The Illinois Woman’s Press Association (IWPA), an affiliate of the National Federation of Press Women (NFPW),  announced the availability of its anniversary Anthology for immediate purchase on Amazon.com. The book is available in paperback form.

In 1914 the depth of talented authors of the Illinois Woman’s Press Association published an anthology they called The Memory Book. In honor and celebration of their legacy, the IWPA of 2014 continues the tradition of promoting the talents of its respective members with the centennial Anthology.

Members will celebrate the official launch of the 203-page work with a Saturday, October 4, 2014 gala at the Book Cellar. Located in Chicago’s Lincoln Square neighborhood at 4736 N Lincoln Ave, the party will begin at 7 PM and will feature live readings from some of the book’s contributing authors including: Susan Brauer, Marlene Cook, Sheila Elliott, Cecilia Green, Ann Heinrichs, Bonnie McGrath, Becky Sarwate, Pat Szpekowski, Marianne Wolf and Barbara Joan Zeitz.

Co-Editor of the project, Marianne Wolf (also IWPA’s Immediate Past President, Historian and Archivist) says of the launch, “We are excited and thrilled to honor the memory of our founders with this collection of writing penned by 21 highly talented women.”

The October 4, 2014 Anthology launch party is open to the public, and members of the media are welcome.
The Illinois Woman’s Press Association, IWPA (since 1885) is an organization of communications professionals whose objective is to maintain and improve the professional standards of members in mass communications in Illinois, to promote their interest, and to provide for the sharing of ideas and information.
