Illinois Woman’s Press Association is proud to present a partnership with the American Association of University Women (AAUW) Chicago (IL) Branch!
Jane Addams is such an important figure in local, national, feminist and civil rights history. She was a founder for many important institutions such as the social settlement Hull-House, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), and National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). She was the first American woman to win the Nobel Peace Prize in 1931. And she’s a critical part of IWPA’s rich past (and present).
Join members of IWPA, AAUW Chicago (IL) and fans from across the state for a celebration of the great work of Jane Addams. Keynote speakers and performers include historian Louise Knight, Professor Annie Storr and musician Kristen Lems. Light refreshments will be served.
